Hi, I’m David and I run for fun. I put together a collection of my favorite trail runs and city runs in interesting places around the world. I do not take part in competitions, nor am I an ultra runner. For me it’s all about finding freedom, inspiration, physical workout and mental balance outdoors.

In that spirit, I look for trails that are interesting and versatile, off the beaten track in extraordinary, stunning locations (or seeking hidden gems), and personally challenging. Most runs feature moderate to difficult trails between 12km to 30km with around 500m to 1200m of elevation, although a number of interesting trails wind through relatively flat terrain along rivers and lakes. Beware that some mountain paths or coastal trails can be dangerous and exposed – you’re taking your own risks, so be diligent!

Based in Munich, a number of my home tracks are located around the city and towards the Bavarian Alps. I explore new trails primarily in diverse European locations.

My route descriptions are short and to the point, graded by my personal impression listing the best (and worst) features. The focus is on letting lots of photographs from the runner’s point of view do the talking. For orientation I link to GPS track data and all posted running tracks (and more) are organized and accessible via my Komoot Collections.
